As The Telegram’s restaurant critic for St. John’s, I review the newest restaurants, the institutions and the newest restaurants in the city as well as write a monthly monthly food trends column for the Saltwire network of publications across Atlantic Canada.

Freelance work has included a combination of digital media and print journalism including features in Atlantic Business Magazine, The Chronicle Herald and Daily Hive Toronto. My work on food culture and history has appeared in CBC, Eater, USA Today and Eaten Magazine, the world’s first food history magazine.

As Associate Editor I contributed to every issue of the magazine with features like The Long Whey Home (showcasing the business of the only cheesemaker in Newfoundland) as manage the Water Cooler and After Hours section detailing business news throughout the Atlantic provinces in addition to editing and working with freelance writers. I wrote “Five Things to Know about business in Atlantic Canada” for the magazine’s website every week as well as manage all social media accounts of both Atlantic Business Magazine and our sister publication Natural Resources Magazine.
Food and Travel Blogger

Creator/editor of thefoodgirlintown.com, a site deliciously devoted to (mis)adventures in travelling to eat. From hotel and restaurant reviews to the culinary history of my favourite foods, the site details my voracious need to travel to eat. My 24-hour guides like “48 Hours of Eating: A Winter Guide to Ottawa Restaurants” have proven to be wildly successful.

As Assistant Producer, I researched hotels tirelessly. From Vancouver Island to Fogo Island, I wrote content for the site on daily basis, liaised with clients about deals and maintained ads on the hotel section of the Travelzoo Canada website. Daily production of online content and hotel deals for a global media company. Regularly created editorial content for Travelzoo Canada blog.
